Robert Benson > Frank Merrill's leg bruise - I was tackled while going down for a ball on the floor in our game Saturday. Big ass kid came up behind me and knocked the shit out of me. My left leg felt like I had nearly dislocated the hip, and I was partially numb down the leg (sciatic sort of feel, but that isn’t unusual, because of my back). So my leg was killing me Saturday night (duh, couldn’t sleep, even with 4 Aleve tabs on board), and I asked Clarice Sunday if she could see a bruise, which she said she couldn’t (then), and I didn’t go to the gym Monday because I couldn’t move my leg, then I finally went Wednesday. One of my buddies noticed the butt bruise first, said what the hell happened, I told him, but he said nada about the leg part. Got home, showed Clarice the butt, she reacted in mild horror by asking “have you seen your leg?” I knew nothing of this, until I finally backed up into the mirror – yeow. Beeks – looks to me like I tore some sort of butt or hamstring muscle – how bad is this going to be later on? Last time, 15 years ago, when I tore my RIGHT hamstring (high up in my ass as well), your response was “ huh huh, you’re f**ked.” And how true that was. I can’t bend my left leg into my chest at this point, although it is less painful today than yesterday. Getting old is the shits.
